Eva's Story

I love helping others and making a real difference to people’s lives. It is a challenging role but it is very rewarding. Even as a student nurse I feel that I am assisting others in a very real sense, particularly during the practical placements.

It’s never too late to start a new career as a nurse. I’m a mature student, married with four children, with the determination to qualify as a nurse and make a real difference to people’s lives. Having initially studied a computing course at university, it was my part-time job as a community health care assistant that made me realise that my career lay in nursing. It changed my life completely.

Despite graduating from university with a computing Masters degree, I decided to apply for the Adult Nursing degree at Chester. I was accepted and offered a place at their campus on the Wirral.

The Wirral staff are exceptionally welcoming, friendly and supportive. Taught by a team of lecturers that are professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the nursing profession, the lectures are extremely engaging and valuable. Local hospital sites nearby include Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge Hospital which are both used alongside a number of other healthcare settings in the area for placements.
