Josh's Story

The falconry was advertised on the approved placement section of the Work Based Learning Moodle site. The falconry has good links with the University offering an increasing amount of placements throughout the years.

In the morning the six students would work on the husbandry; which involved cleaning and maintaining the animals’ homes. In the afternoon the team of six students worked on a survey of the cathedral grounds, which builds upon the findings of previous years’ work, to find out if the site encourages or disturbs the natural wildlife. The findings will be used as part of the cathedrals sustainability project. Some improvements may be made to the falconry in accordance to their findings, with previous students introducing a bug hotel which is still in use today.
