The Summer School is held in hybrid format. Students can attend in person, in Hollybank, Chester, or online, on Teams. There will be an optional dinner on the evening of Thursday 6th June.  Further details will be communicated by email.

2 day event timings are:

  • Thursday 6th June – 10am-5pm
  • Friday 7th June – 9am-3.30pm

TRS Chester students are invited to submit proposals to present their work in progress:

  • MA students are invited to submit a title for a 5 minute lightning talk on research in progress
  • MPhil, PhD and DProf Stage 2 students (who have passed their 9 month review and have not yet submitted): please submit a title and brief abstract (150 words max) for a short paper relating to your work. We'd really like to hear from as many of our research students as possible so please do give this some thought and talk to your supervisor about what you could present on.

How to get there

Hollybank, Exton Park is centrally located in Chester, and accessible via the M53, A483, A41, A56, and public transport from the city centre.

Cycling

The Greenway Gate, accessible between 7am – 9pm with your University pass, is located at the back of the overflow car park and is the nearest point of access to the Millennium Greenway cycle path that connects to routes throughout the city.

Public Transport

Arriva 1A and Arriva 1 run frequent services that stop with a short walk to Exton Park. All three Park and Ride routes, PR1, PR2, and PR3 have connections within walking distance to Exton Park.

The University is 20 minutes’ walk from Chester railway station and a 15-minute walk from Bache station.

By Car

Chester is linked directly to the national motorway system via the M53, and London and all the major regions of the UK are easily accessible from the city. Theology and Religious Studies (Hollybank) is situated at the junction of Liverpool Road (A5116) and Dawson Drive, just north of the city centre.

Parking is very restricted at Hollybank. Parking is limited on the main Exton Road campus also which is accessed off Parkgate road at Exton Park entrance.
