University Blog: The Inside Story

This week we’ve been sharing our favourite pictures from around the city to highlight what we think makes Chester a great location for our students.

The 8th August marks International Cat Day, a special 24 hours of celebration for our wonderful furry friends.

Lucy, a third year BSc (Hons) Psychology student, tells us about her Clearing journey at the University of Chester.

Georgia, a second year BA (Hons) History student, tells us about how staff at the University helped her through the Clearing process.

Students come to Clearing in a variety of ways and for a number of reasons. If you don’t get the results you need, have missed the application deadline or have a change of heart and want to attend a different university, then Clearing is for you!

Now that our campuses are quieter, we thought we would recap over the 2018/19 academic year and look back at what our students got up to.

BA (Hons) Event Management students, Chloe and Jasmine, reflect on their last three years at the University of Chester, and give their ‘top 10 tips’ for students beginning their university journey.

Our student-friendly city hosts a year-round schedule of music, food and drink markets, sporting events, parades and the Chester Races.

With results day not too far away, we’ve put together a simple guide that covers what to do on the day and how to approach any outcomes you weren’t quite expecting.

Whether you’re planning ahead for next September, or still have decisions to make about where to study this year, it’s always a good idea to visit a university in person.  It really is the best way to experience what’s on offer and get a feel for what it will actually be like.

Now that you've visited a HE Fair, it’s time to start thinking about what to do next. From researching your options online or in the prospectus to visiting on an Open Day, there’s a number of things you can do to help you pick the right university for you.

It’s been a busy five weeks for our Level 5 students who have been completing their Work Based Learning module. Placements have ranged across a variety of sectors, including law, animal care, film production, science and policing. The opportunities have been endless and we’ve heard a number of brilliant success stories!
