Our first year students visited Chester Cathedral as part of their first assignment. The Operations Director at Chester Cathedral gave the group some insight into the day to day running of the Cathedral, the challenges faced and the Marketing techniques used in order to encourage visitors to the Cathedral. The students experienced the tower tour and were given a display by the team who run the Falconry, despite the heavy rain!

It’s estimated that there’s currently over 500,000 people working in the sport industry in the UK and, given the impetus of the London Olympics, the World Athletics Championships and other major sporting events, this figure is set to grow quickly.

The Sport Marketing and Management programme at the University of Chester is aimed at those who aspire to work in management and marketing roles within the sport industry.
