University Blog: The Inside Story

In the first of our student Snapchat takeovers, Jordan, a 2nd year Psychology student showed us around the Parkgate Road campus, the beautiful city of Chester and on a night out in the Student Union bar.

Moving away from home to a new city where you don't know anyone is understandably quite a scary prospect for many people. But the University of Chester isn't in just any normal city!

At the University of Chester we have over 200 active Student Ambassadors who volunteer at our events. These ambassadors live and study on campus and each ambassador has a different view point on what makes their university experience great for them. Their main roles at any event is to ensure visitors get a real idea of what it’s like to be a University of Chester Student, showing our visitors around and making every visit to our beautiful campuses unique.

Choosing the right university isn’t an easy thing to do. With seemingly endless options available it can be quiet a daunting prospect trying to whittle your decision down to just one! You’ve read through the pile of prospectuses that you’ve collected, you’ve scouted all the websites and drawn up countless pros and cons lists for each institution trying to find the one that ticks all the boxes on your wish list, yet you might still be struggling to pick.

As one of the most widely-spoken languages in the world with hundreds of millions of speakers, it’s no surprise that the English Language programme at the University of Chester is an extremely popular degree option. Take a look at this blog to find out what you can expect from the course.

With Chinese New Year taking place tomorrow, we spoke to final year Modern Languages student Jordan Marshall to find out about his experience swapping Chester’s Roman Walls for the Great Wall of China.

If you missed the 15th January application deadline don’t panic. Missing the deadline doesn’t mean your chance of going to university in 2017 is over. You’ll be pleased to know that there is still time for you to apply. If you're still thinking about applying to university, here's what you'll need do.  

If you’ve been offered a place on one of our undergraduate courses, then you can now book a place on to one of our upcoming Applicant Days. Whilst you may have already visited us on an Open Day or campus tour, it’s still worth visiting on an Applicant Day to get a better, more informed idea of whether the University of Chester is right for you.
