Nick Munro UK is an established British luxury design brand that creates tableware and homeware for the consumer, retail and hospitality markets. Specialising in designing beautiful, elegant pieces combining classic style with functionality, the company has supplied many high-end hotels and prestigious stores with stylish barware, tea and coffee sets and cutlery.

Alex Beveridge started the company on the back of the first spring egg cup design: “The business quickly transformed in to the company it is today with multiple product designs across various product types, working with some of the world’s biggest hospitality and retail companies.”

The head office is based in the University of Chester’s Riverside Innovation Centre and products are manufactured in India, China, the Czech Republic and the UK. Goods are shipped to customers all over the world.

Signature product designs include the Queen’s official Diamond Jubilee teapot which is now on display in Buckingham Palace, and the official Olympics tea range for London 2012 which has become a sought-after collector’s item.

The company’s customers and partners include, in retail: Wolf and Badger, Fortnum & Mason, Torquato (Germany) and Williams and Oliver; in hospitality: Balmoral Hotel (Edinburgh), Chiltern Firehouse (London), Hotel De Berri (Paris), Kimpton Fitzroy (London), Morpheus (Macau), Chester Grosvenor; hotel groups: Accor Hotels, Marriot Group, Jumeirah, AB Hotels, RF Hotels; in design collaboration: Wedgwood, Belstaff, Casa Bugatti, Arthur Price, Royal Selangor, Victoria and Albert Museum, Spode, Fired Earth, La Cafetière and P&O Cruises.

Nick Munro UK joined the Business Growth Programme (BGP) three years ago for advice on business strategy and growth. The business benefited from one-to-one support as well as advice on how to attract students to help the company develop.

Timely progress

Joining the BGP also enabled the company to get its Christmas dinnerware portfolio out as well as launching its spring collection. Alex highlighted BGP’s ability to connect Nick Munro with students as a key component to recent success, “Access to interns has helped greatly in developing and preparing for the launch of our new furniture brand which will be hugely influential in the growth of the company.”
