Lockdown was a time of creativity and positivity for BGP-supported business, Rebecca Wray Coaching Consultancy.

Based in Warrington, the consultancy company offers coaching and training to leaders in schools and businesses across the UK to drive outcomes and improvements.

Rebecca Wray supports leaders to identify the needs of their people; advise an appropriate plan of action and then deliver engaging, inspiring, developmental solutions. This approach means that individuals can grow while ensuring overall business objectives are achieved.

Rebecca contacted the Business Growth Programme (BGP) to share how her business had responded during lockdown after joining with the Exclusive BGP Facebook group, which is dedicated to offering support and advice to fellow businesses on the programme. Rebecca attended some of the BGP training last year, including: ‘How to Effectively Use Instagram for Business’ and the ‘Innovating and Commercialising for Growth’ Business Bootcamp. She said, “The opportunity to work with other business owners in other sectors was immeasurably valuable”.

Adapting quickly to the restrictions of the pandemic, Rebecca was able to change her business offer from delivering face-to-face training to learning online.

“In response to lockdown we launched a new service, the Virtual Learning Scheme. Our mission was to offer CPD (Continuing Professional Development) to people at home, whom may be struggling to find human connection and purpose. I recognised that many people were at home with perhaps more time than usual but wanted to use the time to learn, refresh and reflect. I also recognised that many people without work suffer from lack of purpose which in turn can then affect our mental health. The virtual learning scheme aimed to provide all of those things for people regularly on a Monday so they had something to put in their diary.”

Rebecca’s agile response to the changing nature of the workplace during the pandemic paid dividends.

She added: “I was bowled over by the interest and had over 160 people registering every week. Due to its success we’re now delivering it again with dates planned until July 2021. Not only has it massively boosted our income, we’ve also found new clients. We’ve been able to hone our skills in delivering webinars, it also gave us something important to work on giving us purpose and focus!”

With a number of popular leadership development programmes running annually, Rebecca Wray Coaching Consultancy is building a vast range of clients across the country.
