Information about you: how we use it and with whom we share it

It is in the University’s legitimate interest to use your professional contact information to deliver the services that you are seeking from us and to keep you informed about how we are able to help you.  We use your information to:

  • Inform you about our services, including advertising jobs, placements, volunteer opportunities, taking part in events and building your profile at the University and any updates to our database
  • Contact you regarding your profile on our volunteer database, including the status of student applications to a volunteer role
  • Update you about the University and our students and graduates via regular newsletters
  • Enquire about involvement in student development and recruitment activities
  • Seek your feedback via occasional surveys
  • Contact you about any changes to the terms and conditions relating to the services we offer.

Careers and Employability

The University uses an external company, CareerHub, as our data processor.  They provide us with a database to allow us, as data controllers, to contact you and to administer our services. We will hold your professional contact information on CareerHub on an ongoing basis unless you request us to remove them for any reason.

If you have any questions, or wish to be removed from our database, please contact employers@chester.ac.uk

Work Based Learning

The Work Based Learning Department will hold your professional contact information on their bespoke database on an ongoing basis unless you request us to remove them for any reason.  We will not share your details with anyone outside of the Work Based Learning Department without your express permission.  In addition, we will contact you on an annual basis to confirm if you wish to host any of the University of Chester students on a work placement.
