The University holds the ‘Chester and District Eat Well’ award, meaning the University is committed to healthy eating and high standards of food hygiene. Our outlets cater for all dietary requirements and we have been awarded Fairtrade status and are Vegetarian Society and allergen accredited.
Our chefs use locally sourced ingredients from trusted suppliers and our menus always include a number of plant-based options. The University even grows much of its own vegetables, herbs and spices in the greenhouses and borders dotted around the campuses.
All our catering outlets are now cashless. As well as card payments, customers can make payments through the YOYO wallet app. Staff and students can download the app via Google Play or the Apple App Store using your University email address from this link.
As part of the University’s commitment to sustainability and reducing plastic packaging, we no longer offer single-use paper cups in our catering outlets: students can use a drop and swap scheme when purchasing hot drinks. By downloading the app, students will receive a reusable cup to use in all outlets. It can then be returned for a replacement or a token.
