Maggie Chan
Maggie Chan, Co-Founder of Girls in Charge, Researcher in Entrepreneurship and Deputy Chair of the Engagement Board at Cheshire & Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)
Maggie shared her amazing story as a serial entrepreneur who graduated from Oxford University and co-founded the Girls in Charge initiative, which aims to encourage young women to ‘try out’ entrepreneurship through game-based workshops.
Her work has seen her invited to the House of Lords and was featured in the Start-up Magazine and the national entrepreneurship report - Future Founders (2019).
Maggie said: "I had a wonderful time speaking to the students at Chester and seeing their creativity blossom throughout the session. They asked great questions, even some I had never been asked before! What a fantastic group of students!"
Dhruv Krishnaraj
Dhruv Krishnaraj, Co-Founder and Director of Student Circus
Dhruv explained how he came to the UK from India to do a Master of Science in Management in 2014 and wanted to gain work experience to enhance his skills. Having faced challenges searching for a job in the UK, he came up with the unique idea of developing the job-search platform specifically for international students.
Dhruv said: “Thank you Fran for inviting me to Chester Business School. I enjoyed sharing our journey with the students and they had some wonderful questions. Wishing them all the best in formulating their business ideas.”
Dan Barnes and Lina Tejoprayitno, founders of Pop Specs
Dan and Lina shared their journey of success, seeing the company they founded in 2019 become a rapidly growing and ‘disruptive’ alternative to modern eyewear with funky and fun spectacles which are finished within 20 minutes.
