The Law School has a developing interest in research activities. We have a small but expanding group of postgraduate research students who have a variety of research interests ranging from equality, human rights, pedagogy, legal history, environmental justice to international law. All of the Law School’s research active staff supervise final year undergraduate dissertations and many also supervise master’s degree dissertation projects. Many staff also have a strong publication record and regularly present at national and international conferences.
In recent years, the Law School has received both internal and external funding to support nationally and internationally relevant research. In particular, staff have recently been funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Young Women’s Trust to conduct nationally recognised research in the area of equality legislation. Staff also regularly host events, seminars and workshops around their research interests.
At present the Law School hosts two research forums: the Forum for Research into Equality and Diversity and the Chester Legal History Forum.
