In the first year of your time at Chester Medical School you will be based in the historic city of Chester.  Our facilities there include state-of-the-art clinical skills and high-fidelity simulation suites where you will begin to learn the practice of medicine.  You Case Based Learning sessions will be held in well-equipped seminar rooms where you will learn with a small group of other students.  As you would expect from a modern university, we also have a range of lecture theatres, laboratories, libraries, and flexible teaching spaces, all with excellent computing and wi-fi connectivity.

However, the majority of your learning will occur in clinical placements, both in the community and in hospitals throughout the region.  We are developing strong links with many general practitioners (family) doctors, as well as hospitals (Countess of Chester, Warrington and Halton, Leighton and Wrexham Maelor).  These clinical placements are supported by online learning and our virtual learning platforms.

Chester has a strong reputation in sports and exercise and community engagement, so please do look at these facilities in other parts of our website.
