About Rachel Atkinson

She started her career working as a Biomedical Scientist specialising in Diagnostic virology, first in the UK and then in New Zealand. On her return to the UK she worked for the Forensic Science Service in their DNA unit and later for the Environment Agency as an Environment Officer (water and waste) ensuring compliance with licence and investigating pollution incidents. More recently she has worked at Harper Adams University as a microbiology technician with responsibility for microbiology , molecular biology, haematology and parasitology practical’s, then at Liverpool University, first as a veterinary technician and then as a research technician on  the “ BiFFiO Project “- looking at the anaerobic digestion of agricultural and fish farm waste.
