About Stephanie Watkins
Stephanie studied for a BSc in Bioveterinary Science at The University of Liverpool. Following this, she remained at the University of Liverpool to study for a Masters with a project characterising novel bovine innate lymphoid cell subsets. She also completed an internship at the Centre for Zoonoses research contributing to projects on antibiotic resistance in E. coli and Campylobacter. She is currently working towards a PhD investigating the effect of vitamin D on the immune system in people with asthma.
Before working in the Department of Biological Sciences, Stephanie was a lab technician in the Department of Clinical Science at the University of Chester for four years. During this time, she supported undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes and research students.
Stephanie has experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, physiology, clinical skills and tissue culture.
