About Kate Bingle

  1. What areas of service should I ask you about?

I work for the Venture Programme which is part of Careers & Employability. Venture will equip you with the skills and knowledge to start up your own business, enter self-employment, freelance or innovate within an organisation: a valuable skill employers are looking for.

  1. What piece of advice would you give to a Level 6 student about to graduate?

Think carefully about what you enjoy and what motivates you. What are your strengths and weaknesses? Look for a role that you think you’ll enjoy and has elements of the things that excite and motivate you. If you enjoy what you do, life will be fun.

  1. What piece of advice would you give to a Level 4 student just starting University?

Take advantage of as many opportunities as you can. Volunteer, learn new skills, make new friends, travel and have fun.

  1. What motivates you in your work?

Working as a member of a fun, positive and dedicated team. I enjoy being able to help others and cake always helps to motivate me on a Friday too!

  1. How do you relax when not at work?

Taking my two dogs for a long walk in the country and visiting parts of the UK that I’ve never been to before.

  1. What is your biggest career achievement?

Working as an Occupational Therapist both on a busy Trauma Orthopaedic ward and within the community.

  1. With which academic departments do you work?

The Venture Programme is open to all students and graduates, from all departments. Therefore, I liaise with colleagues across all Faculties.
