About Mark Parry

What areas of service should I ask you about?

I’m responsible for managing the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey for the University.   This gives us lots of information about what graduates go on to do.   Therefore, ask me to find out more information on what previous graduates from your course typically do.  Or, get in touch if you want to find out more how DLHE works.

What piece of advice would you give to a Level 6 student about to graduate?

Don’t forget you can still access your CareerHub account when you graduate.

Oh, and don’t forget to complete your DLHE form when it arrives. It’s a massive help to myself (and the University).

What piece of advice would you give to a Level 4 student just starting University?

I know everyone says it; but make the most of your time here.  The time you spend at university will fly by.  So make sure you take advantage of all the amazing opportunities you have access to.  Don’t get to the end of your final year and think, ‘I wish I had done more’!  Many of the activities and experiences you can benefit from at university just aren’t available in the outside world.

What motivates you in your work?

Finding different ways to present and analyse information. Who doesn’t like a good pivot table or colourful graph? But failing that coffee and cake also helps.

How do you relax when not at work?

Running, TV boxsets, baking, holidays and European city breaks

What is your biggest career achievement?

Appearing with the campus cat on the University’s Instagram page. 190 likes and counting!

With which academic departments do you work?

Work with lots of different departments in regards the reporting and publication of destinations data and answering questions about such data.
