The Department of Chemical Engineering is the centre for teaching and research in the process industries at the University of Chester.  Our BEng and MEng degrees in Chemical Engineering are fully accredited by the IChemE, and are the first step to chartered engineer status.  Alternatively, you can study on our Degree Apprentice programme while earning a salary and without paying any tuition fees!

We are also home to many postgraduate students studying on our MRes and PhD degrees, as well as MSc students on our Programme and Project Management degree.

Students and staff benefit from outstanding laboratory equipment and close links to industry, with all BEng and MEng students completing engineering work placements as a core part of their degrees.  You can read more about the courses we offer and the research carried out in the Department via the links below.

If you would like to find out more about becoming a chemical engineer, why not also visit our Virtual Process Lab?  You will learn about some important unit operations in the chemical industries and can operate virtual equipment such as bioreactors, exothermic reactors, distillation columns!
