About Athalia Dangerfield
Athalia first joined the University of Chester Business School working with the Work Based Learning department supporting our Level 5 second year students in enhancing their employability skills through exciting work placements. She has now joined the Management department as a Lecturer and will be involved in teaching our Level 7 postgraduate students on a range of modules as well as supervising their dissertation research projects.
Before starting her journey with the University of Chester, Athalia has been involved in the social enterprise and non-for-profit sector, which developed her passion for social change through entrepreneurship. In 2018 she co-founded a social enterprise called A Mind To Thrive, which is dedicated to providing mental health support for individuals, workplaces and education. She has also been a Board member of a charitable organisation called Ludus Dance based in Lancaster for several years.
In her role as a Lecturer in the Management department, she will be involved in teaching on a range of Level 7 postgraduate modules, including BU7043 Leadership, Development and Change, BU7042 Health and Social Care Commissioning, and BU7062 Independent Work Experience. In addition to supervising Level 7 research proposals and dissertations on BU7002 and BU7001.
Athalia is passionate about entrepreneurship education and social enterprise management. She has a keen interest in the entrepreneurial journey and is driven to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to establish sustainable socially focused ventures.
