About Rayhan Abdullah Zakaria
Rayhan is the module leader for the MSC International Business course. Beside his module leading duties Rayhan is also a MSc research supervisor. He has supervised well over 50 MSc students since he has started working within the Chester Business School.
Beside his postgraduate students, Rayhan also coaches and mentors’ undergraduate students on Employability Skills Analysis Development and Planning WB5104. Rayhan is also the Academic Integrity Officer for the department of business and management
Besides his academic work, Rayhan has over 22 years of paid industry working history often working for various global banking, accounting, and finance brands. Rayhan has also worked for local government, social housing, and high street retail brands in various finance and human resource management roles. He holds chartered membership status with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Associate membership status with the Institute of Health and Social Care Management (IHM)
Rayhan completed his bachelor’s degree from the University of Liverpool (2007). He followed this up by completing his master's degree from Liverpool John Moors University (2011). His love for academia meant he is now pursuing his doctoral research with Chester business school at present. Rayhan takes part in the Academic Thought Leadership Group within Socialvalue.org and he is an academic journal reviewer for the International Journal of Higher Education, Skills and Work-based Learning.
Outside of his teaching and doctoral research work, Rayhan runs his consultancy website where he publishes his writings, commentates, and carries out advisory, coaching and mentoring duties

Research
Rayhan’s PhD focuses on the field of Human Resource Management, especially on understanding organizational culture and how it affects the leadership team during times of uncertainty and stress. Major themes of his research areas are Employee Empowerment, HRM innovation, Sustainability, Leadership, Policy, Employee Relations, and Technology.
