As an adult nurse and health visitor, I first developed a passion for sharing health information with patients as a day surgery lead and soon realised that I should develop this passion for health improvement and health protection by continuing my studies to qualify as a health visitor.

Not only did this experience develop my skills in supporting health needs of diverse populations it also gave me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge in the specialist area of child nutrition and in particular in infant feeding.

As an Infant Feeding Coordinator, I led two Trusts through the first stages of UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative Accreditation and was privileged to hold a teaching and assessing role with UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative before joining the University of Chester.

I have been at the university for eight years and have enjoyed sharing knowledge and skills as well as my passion for health visiting with our students.
