About Piotr Sananowicz

Piotr’s industrial and academic experience proven expertise in mechanical engineering, quality assurance, research & development, project management, and strategic planning, as well as ability to create cost-effective, cutting-edge designs. In February 2017 Piotr joined technical team at Thornton Science Park as an Eco-Innovation Technical Officer.

Since that positively driven provides professional support across faculty with focus on Mechanical Engineering and ERDF Eco-Innovation research developments. Piotr specializes in manufacturing technologies, engineering materials, metallography and computer aided design, systematically developing new capabilities with focus on prototyping and material testing.

As a non-academic staff Piotr supports delivery of the program modules and laboratory sessions as well technical guidance and training for student with their projects and summer placements.

Piotr developed his research in Kempten University of Applied Sciences on new method of welding - “Friction Crush Welding”. His area of research was focused parameter study for the welding process and metallographic analysis of the oxide layer formations and grain fining effect within the we welding zone.

Current research is focused on mechanical design. Piotr is working to develop new experimental machinery for material destructive testing.
