Our department has brought together researchers from a variety of education-related backgrounds (both academic and professional) to create a research environment that not only seeks to push the boundaries of existing knowledge but of data-collection methods themselves.

We strive for a high level of quality throughout all aspects of our research, while developing a widespread international profile.

This culture is built on many years combined experience in education, as well as long-running collaborations and relationships with other academic institutions - not just in the UK but around the world. We seek to build upon these foundations by welcoming and nurturing the interests of incoming Postgraduate research students.

We strive for a high level of quality throughout all aspects of our research, while developing a widespread international profile. Our work covers a range of interests, grouped under the themes of Creativity, Marginalisation, Leadership and Management, Educational Practice, and Early Years. Through the investigation of these areas, we aim to impact cultural practices in classroom settings, the student experience and the overall professional and organisational framework of education. We also continually create and cultivate links with partners in schools, universities and other organisations as a means to enhance our own research.
