The Faculty of Science and Engineering offers degrees in engineering, sciences, mathematics and computing using a strongly interdisciplinary teaching philosophy. It has strong links to research and innovation facilities which form the base for the Faculty’s post-graduate research provision.
The Faculty of Science and Engineering is involved in active research with companies. These constitute a wide range of start-ups as well as small and medium enterprises and large multinationals. The Faculty is also involved in the numerous commercial growth programmes.
In terms of teaching, the degrees offered in the Faculty are taught using a strongly interdisciplinary teaching philosophy. We offer a range of stimulating and exciting courses in science, engineering, computing and mathematics. All degrees emphasise practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge to maximise employability opportunities for our graduates. Placements are available from a range of companies on-site and the wider North West area. In the engineering subjects, we offer both three-year Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degrees and also four-year integrated Master of Engineering (MEng) degrees, in Chemical Engineering. BSc degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, as well as Materials Science and Engineering, take three years to complete.
