Philanthropy has been central and fundamental to the success of the University since its foundation, being built on gifts and bequests from our Founders, associates and the City of Chester. As a registered charity, this type of philanthropic support is becoming all the more important to continuing to achieve our Mission, and your support now will ensure that we can do so for generations to come.

We can do this again now, but we need your support to achieve it.

Our vision is that all students who attend the University of Chester have the very best experience, and that alumni and supporters can directly contribute to this vision. We want the students of today to be telling stories for years to come of their positive, valuable and life-affirming time here at the University, just like the stories we hear from many of you, our alumni and supporters, about your time here at Chester.

Realising academic ambitions.

Excelling through a passion for sports or societies.

Developing exemplary work in and with our communities.

Becoming citizens who are part of the solutions to today’s challenges.

You can play a part in the stories of today’s students, and their lives as graduates.

Chester can change lives. We know this, because so many of you, our alumni, tell us that this is true for you, still, years after your time as a student.

Today’s students are facing challenges that nobody has experienced before, be it personally, professionally or globally. Our new strategy as an institution focusses on the ‘Citizen Student’ – which in turn, means graduates who can take their rightful place in society as part of the solution to the challenges they, and we, will continue to face.

Over the past 12 months, the Development and Alumni Relations Office team have been asking today’s students about what they would like to achieve during their time at Chester, and the best way to support this, with funds generously donated by our alumni. It quickly became clear that today’s students want the opportunity to think ‘outside the box’, and so we have created the Achieve Fund, so that students can apply for funding the widest possible range of student-led projects and initiatives. The Covid-19 pandemic situation this year means that more than ever before, we want to play a part in making our student’s experience enriching, successful and distinctively Chester – this could be excelling in sport, realising an academic ambition, or responding to a need in the communities that surround us – all life-changing, and all made possible by you, our alumni donors.

This year’s Reunion is entirely free of charge to you. We are asking alumni to support our students with a one-off or regular donation, so that ambitions like those above, as well as those we haven’t heard about yet, can be realised. In the past 12 months, hundreds of our alumni have supported us through regular giving – will you give your first-ever gift to Chester, this year?

You can help our students achieve more than ever before.

You can do this by donating below. Thank you.
