Your Move...

Thinking about switching universities?

We understand that life doesn’t always go to plan. For all kinds of reasons, students need to switch universities and change what they are doing. But we all also know that, although sometimes necessary, change can be a little daunting. However, with our Easy Transfer Scheme, it needn’t be the big deal that you think it is. Our ‘Switch Team’ is here to make this process as smooth a one as possible.

But, first things first, let us briefly tell you why we think Chester might be the right university for you.

Support to help you thrive

The University is in the top ten for student support (WUSCAs 2020) and has been above sector average for overall satisfaction in the National Student Survey for the past five years running. This isn’t some kind of fluke though! When you enrol at the University of Chester, you’ll be joining a community of staff and students with an unrelenting commitment to succeed. We’ll go that ‘extra mile’ to help ensure that you thrive at the University, starting with the allocation of a Personal Academic Tutor (PAT) who will engage with you on a one-to-one basis and help with your personal development goals. Our aim is to develop you into a distinctive, resilient and highly employable graduate ready to make a valuable contribution to society.

Become well connected

By choosing to transfer to the University of Chester, you’ll be choosing a University that’s well connected and, in turn, will offer you the opportunity to also become well connected. Recognised as a top ten university for job prospects (WUSCAs 2020), we offer distinctive opportunities to help you develop new skills and grow in confidence. Volunteering, internships and work-based learning all enable our students to graduate not only with a good honours degree, but with a good professional network of contacts and hopefully a good reference. All academic and personal development can also be logged in your e-portfolio which will stay with you throughout your university journey and, we hope, beyond.

Our Easy Transfer Scheme

To help make your transfer to University a smooth and swift process, our ‘Switch Team’ will ensure that everything you need is in place prior to enrolling. Here’s how we do this.

  1. Register – by registering your details below, we’ll call you to discuss your current circumstances and advise on the next step. We’re sure you must have a few questions, so let’s get this process started with a quick chat.
  2. Application – once you have applied, the team will consider your application and whether we can make you an offer. At this point, we’ll make it clear at which level we are offering you a place and when we anticipate you starting on the course.
  3. Transition – the team will also help you with all the practicalities of moving to a new university: getting your accommodation sorted; organising a personalised induction programme for you; checking whether you have any welfare requirements; etc. This should help take some of the stress out of your switch to University.
  4. Study plan – we'll also formulate a bespoke programme of study to ensure you are able to complete your course during the remainder of the academic year.
