The University has the following established staff networks that are open to any member of staff to join:

Disabled Staff Group

The aim of this staff network is to confront, discuss and find possible solutions to the various issues relating to disability and to make a positive impact to the working lives of disabled staff at the University.  You can see more about the work of the group in our video

LGBT+ Staff Group

The University takes great pride in its ever growing LGBT+ staff network group. Members of staff both academic or professional services, full time or part time, and who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Trans+, are invited to join.  The network takes a full and active role in the community, particularly around the organisation of Chester Pride events.

Women’s Network

The proactive format of the Women’s Networking Meetings enables attendees to really learn from each other and to come up with solutions to real work life situations.  A 'speed networking' opportunity at the beginning of each session allows attendees to get to know one another and Action Learning sets focus on particular themes pertinent to women’s career progression.

Parents’ Network

This network has been established for around a year and has already done great work, from creating a page of parent profiles and role model profiles to developing a family leave guide for staff and managers.

Carers’ Network

This network currently operates through a Facebook group. Search You Care, We Care: Carers Network or click  https://www.facebook.com/ucarewecare/ to join.

Menopause Network

This network was established after the successful “Menopause at Work” workshop at the 2019 Diversity Festival and has gone from strength to strength since.  It is open to anyone with an interest in this topic.
