In this Online Conversation, the Sustainability & Environment RKEI is delighted to host two of the most influential figures in sustainable fashion, Aja Barber and Hasna Kourda. Aja and Hasna will share their reflections on the kinds of interventions needed in current cultural and infrastructural systems to ensure more sustainable and ethical clothing consumption, and consider how the garment industry can address its impacts on people and places worldwide.
Aja Barber is a writer, stylist and consultant who authored the book Consumed: The Need For Collective Change: Colonialism, Climate Change, And Consumerism. She was nominated for the non-fiction Indie Book Award 2023.
Hasna Kourda founded the British-based Save Your Wardrobe app in 2020, using artificial intelligence tools to promote circular fashion and drawing on principles of reuse common in her Tunisian culture.
