About the Event

Informal meeting, via Microsoft Teams link.

Short presentation by Christina Buxton followed by Q & A session

This presentation aims to briefly explore the diagnostic frameworks for PTSD and CPTSD, and to contrast the ICD-11 position on CPTSD with the DSM-5 classification. This will include a review of recent thinking on the new ICD-11 CPTSD model and to consider its validity and how to make meaningful interpretations of this diagnostic category.

An examination of the theoretical contributions to this new diagnostic model and the context in which it sits will provide an understanding of the profile of prevalence, risk factors, trauma history and comorbidity associated with those most likely to qualify for diagnosis.
