About the Event

This session will explore a data collection and analysis technique that scholars may find helpful when understanding the state of knowledge on a given phenomenon. Typically the methodology falls within the following steps: identifying a research question and choosing the corresponding methods; compiling and filtering the appropriate data (through Web of Science); cleaning and analysing the data (utilising bibliometric analysis), and visualising and interpreting the results (using VOSviewer). I will cover what bibliometric analysis is, how it might be beneficial to your research and run through a practical example from recent research.
