About Stephanie Brown

I began teaching at the Centre for Foundation Studies in 2019 and I am the module leader for our Introduction to Law and Introduction to Criminology modules.   I also teach across core modules and I am one of the Centre’s two assessment officers.  I am an active member of the Foundation Year Network.

After my law degree, I obtained a Master’s degree in European Legal Studies and then completed the Legal Practice Course. I was a solicitor for over 20 years and my main practice areas were serious personal injury, clinical negligence and industrial disease litigation.

While in practice I taught law part time across further education, higher education and postgraduate law courses before returning to education as a mature student and completing a PGCE in English and ESOL.

The Law and Criminology modules provide a solid base for a range of degree programmes across the Business, Law and Social Science foundation route and enable students to develop knowledge, understanding and key skills in a supportive learning environment.
