The aim of the module is to develop your knowledge and understanding of cognitive behavioural interventions used in clinical practice.

By the end of the module, you will be able to:

  • Analyse and evaluate the different aetiological and treatment approaches for e.g. depression, anxiety disorders and specific phobias.
  • Construct a formulation of clients’ problems using a cognitive and behavioural framework, drawing on social learning theory and assessment results.
  • Drawing on a valid research base, evaluate appropriate cognitive and behavioural intervention strategies for a variety of mental health conditions.
  • Evaluate and apply research findings into cognitive behavioural practice.
