VMM offer volunteer placements in northern Malawi in Mzuzu which focus on, children's education, climage change, HIV Projects, child protection, food security and youth programmes.  Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, with a government education system sorely lacking in both funds, healthcare and teachers.

Spend your summer in colonial Mexico, completing research and improving your Spanish language skills.  Participate in the program's excursions and culture workshops, including cooking and dancing lessons.  

Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico

As the business hub of Mexico, Monterrey is the ideal location to learn business practices while imporving Spanish language skills.  Enjoy easy access to the old town of Barrio Antiguo, where you can find cafes, bars, cultural events, museums and vibrant nightlife.

Located only 20 miles outside of Seoul, Ajou University lets you enjoy the benefits of metropolitan life while still experiencing aspects of traditional Korean culture.  You'll be able to participate in a series of cultural programmes, social activities and excursions to unique historical sites.

At Yonsei University, you can experience Korean culture through a variety of lessons including K-Pop singing, taekwondo, ceramics, Korean cooking and more.  Choose from a wide variety of courses and activities that will introduce Korea's history and culture.

Ostional Wildlife Refuge, Costa Rica

The beach of Ostional is the scenery for a rarely-seen biological wonder. In rainy season, the week before new moon, hundreds - and sometimes hundreds of thousands of sea turtles come to one specific mile of beach at Ostional to dig their eggs into the black, volcanic sand.

The Ostional Wildlife Refuge in Costa Rica was created in 1984 to protect one of the world's most important nesting sites of the olive ridley sea turtle.

With a stay in an Eco Lodge in a rain forest and the opportunity to learn beginners Spanish this is an awesome opportunity. 

Kumi, Uganda

We collaborate with a local Wrexham charity-Teams4U (you may have heard of them through the ‘Christmas shoe boxes’ for children in developing countries that they collect throughout the U.K.). Teams4U are highly experienced in taking teams of people from the UK into the heart of communities in Africa and Uganda is considered the pearl of Africa due to its outstanding natural beauty.  

The projects are in the Kumi area of Uganda and students can participate in a number of activities including:  Helping stage an HIV awareness/ testing event; Run community engagement programs, support and run sports days; lead health education classes and get involved in face-painting, games and other fun activities. They could also be involved in supporting community based awareness programs by running motivation games, health awareness and sports events in order to raise the profile of the benefits of HIV testing. Or/And students can participate in building projects, teaching in nursery and primary schools and the newly launched dignity program which helps with issues that impact women.

Knysna, South Africa

Our partners at Edge of Africa run various projects. These include – teaching in pre-schools and secondary schools in the township, working with homeless kids at a community centre, events management, tourism placements either in the township on an eco-trail or with local tourism businesses, community projects in the township, business development projects in the township. Students who go to Knysna have splendid adventures in their free time, from bungee jumping to swimming with sharks, visiting elephant safaris or simply enjoying the fabulous scenery and atmosphere Knysna has something for all!

Madagascar

The peninsular on which Fort Dauphin is set is flanked either side by sweeping sandy beaches with good surfing. There are high mountains to the North with Pique St Louis overlooking the town. Most amenities are accessible and there is generally good internet access. There are a few quaint local restaurants to choose from, including a beach bar and a vibey and thriving market.!

Madagascar splintered from the main part of the African continent around 150 million years ago, creating the geographical isolation that has allowed the evolution of its unique wildlife where approximately 90 % of all plant and animal species are endemic, including the lemurs, the carnivorous fossa and many birds.
