As soon as I moved to Chester I felt right at home. Everyone at the University of Chester, my church and in the local shops have made me feel very welcome and I have learnt my way around this beautiful city faster than expected.

The lecturers here are realistic and immensely supportive which has allowed me to do well in my studies. Life in Chester is no different as it is for home students because it’s very easy to fit in thanks to the close-knit communities here. My advice to all international students considering a move to Chester would be to just do it!

Studying here also provided me with an opportunity to do a Work Based Learning module. I did my placement at the world famous Chester Zoo because they are involved in several conservation projects which I was eager to get involved with. I spent my time shadowing the animal keepers, helping to feed the animals, conducting a range of checks and ensuring habitats were well maintained. The highlight of my placement was creating a network with the zookeepers and listening to their advice on how to become successful in the industry. I know this experience will look great on my CV when applying for future roles.
