My current role as an SDR, is working on behalf of clients such as Dell or HPE, organising sales meetings and developing business opportunities. This is done by calling into the German market via phone.
The job involves targeting key companies on the German market, and developing new opportunities. This is done primarily by phones, however there is written correspondence. It is built around confidence and relationship building in the target language. There is also a team of 5 Germans (me included), where again I communicate in the target language.
I did a British Council placement during my course. It gave me the knowledge and confidence to work in Germany, and become a part of the culture. It also provided with the opportunity to travel and see new countries in Europe. Lastly, I was able to do a project of my choice, and interview authentic Germans.
