Since completing my undergraduate degree in French and Computer Science at the University in 2012, I have worked at BSkyB.
I attribute the development of my analytical and communicative skills not just to studying French, but to the great support that I received from the Department of Modern Languages for the duration of my course.
"From the beginning of my studies, a lot of time and resources were put into my development, and as the course progressed I was able to use a whole new skill set in an array of situations. In particular, my year abroad enabled me to practise my linguistic and professional skills as a British Council teaching assistant.
"In my software engineering role, I have been able to apply the skills that I acquired during my degree. Communicating with the business in a proficient manner allows me to deliver software to precise requirements. In the context of working in a technical team, communication drives the establishment of standards and developmental conventions.
