Academic joins prestigious national committee

Andy Todd, Associate Professor of Active Citizenship in the School of Law, and co-Chair of national charity the Clinical Legal Education Organisation, has been invited by the Solicitor General to join the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee of England and Wales. She attended her first meeting at the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday, March 22. 

The Committee will meet twice a year in Parliament and its aims include the facilitation of effective, collaborative, and coordinated legal pro bono work in England and Wales. 

Andy, who is the Director of Pro Bono and Community Engagement for the Law School and supervising solicitor for the University of Chester’s free legal advice clinics, said: “I feel honoured to be invited to sit on such an important committee alongside pro bono champions from across the sector who share a passion for facilitating access to justice for those in our communities who need it most.”
