Hello and welcome back to our Alumni blog! It’s Hayley here and I bring good news – booking for this year’s Annual Reunion is now open!

The event is once again set to be an exciting opportunity to return to your place of study and meet up with old friends for a weekend of reminiscing and reconnection. The event will run from Friday, September 8 until Sunday, September 10, with full bed and breakfast available.

You will be able to check in from 2pm onwards on the Friday afternoon, then enjoy full access to the Chester Students’ Union bar throughout the evening.

Attention 1967 starters* and 1977 leavers – there are also mini reunions with buffets for your year groups organised for Friday night. You won’t want to miss this chance to catch up with your former classmates!

(*Please note that while this is not a tick box option on the paper booking form, you can just make a note on your form and the Alumni team will ensure you are booked onto this event. The cost is £12.50.)

Saturday will be another busy day, and include the Alumni Association’s AGM, Stan’s campus tour (only available if you have booked onto it prior) and a chapel service. A delicious buffet lunch and three-course dinner will also be provided on Saturday (please note these need to be booked and paid for in advance via the form too).

And don’t forget to purchase your raffle tickets which will be on sale over the weekend! The funds raised will be put towards our WW1 Commemoration service and events in June 2018. As part of the commemorations, we are asking volunteers to create an individual textile poppy for each fallen alumnus in WW1. If you are interested in taking part in our poppy project, you can find out more information here.

With the city centre only a 10-15 minute walk from campus, you will also be able to have a wander into Chester itself between events and access local amenities. Parking will be available onsite.

Please remember that booking is essential and the closing date is Friday, August 25 – which is when we will be allocating rooms, therefore we cannot accept any late bookings.
