Annual Reunion 2018 is fast approaching, with only a week to go! Preparations are well under way to make this year a fantastic experience for all the alumni who will be joining us on the Parkgate Road Campus over the weekend.

As part of the celebrations, we are excited to let you know that this year we have two dedicated venues for you and your fellow alumni to catch up over a drink, or two!

Principal's House

One of these very special locations is the Principal’s House and the attached conservatory bar. This historic building is now known at Senate House, but formerly was the home to a number of the institution’s Principals during its time as Chester College. This area of campus, which is rich in the institution’s history, is being opened exclusively for our alumni to relax in and catch up with old friends for a quiet drink.

We are proud to call this area The Cestrian Bar, which will be serving wine, bottled beer, spirits and soft drinks. We are also delighted to be able to welcome you inside the Principal’s House, where you can admire one of the oldest buildings on campus, make yourself comfy in the Drawing Room, and take in the beautiful refurbishment of the building.

Did you know when the then Chester College was first built, the Principal’s House offered beautiful views of North Wales and the surrounding countryside? These views can still be enjoyed from the top of the Tower building on today’s campus.

Students often had their class photos taken outside on the steps of the Principal’s House during their time as students at Chester College in the early 1900s. We would love to see your recreations of these photos, so don’t forget to tweet them to us @ChesterAlumni, or email them to alumni@chester.ac.uk.

The Cestrian Bar is open from 4pm until 9pm on Friday and Saturday.

If you’re looking for a more conventional party venue, don’t fret! The Students’ Union has transformed some of its Union space exclusively to welcome our alumni back to campus. This includes a full pop-up bar with draft beers and other alcoholic beverages, as well as music! If you want to continue the party, then this is the place to be!

The CSU Alumni Bar is open from 4pm until late on Friday and Saturday.

(Please note that CH1 Bar is closed over Reunion Weekend due to a private event – we hope that the choice of two venues for your Reunion refreshments means this will not affect your celebrations.)
