In September 2018, we were delighted to welcome back a group of 1958-59 Mid Year alumni for their special 60 year reunion. It was the perfect opportunity for old friends to reminisce and see how the campus has changed in recent years.
As part of their special reunion, the group convened in the University Chapel to read extracts from Reverend Henry Moseley’s 1844 report, which was put together five years after the foundation of Chester Diocesan Training School in 1839.
The report was the result of an inspection carried out by the Committee of the Council on Education, where Reverend Henry Moseley spent several days inspecting every aspect of the College in great detail. This resulted in a thirty-five page long report, published in the Minutes of the Council in 1844.
Our group of Mid Year alumni poignantly chose to read extracts from this report in the University Chapel, which is notably featured in Moseley’s report when he describes the incredible building of the Chapel by students themselves.
