On Tuesday, February 12, between 12 midday and 3pm, on the University’s Parkgate Road Campus, the Year of the Pig will be marked with the opportunity to sample Chinese food and tea, Chinese New Year card making, and traditional games (which are: a Chinese shuttlecock game, cradle and Chinese jump rope).

One of the organisers, Dr Min Ge, who is a Lecturer in Chinese Studies, and Programme Leader BA (Combined Honours) Chinese at the University, said: “Since I joined Chester, this is the third year that the China Centre has organised a fair to celebrate Chinese New Year, because they are always well received. The feedback from previous years has always been great and we enjoy sharing a range of games, activities, and cultural experiences, to enable everyone to experience what we do in China at New Year.”

The event is free and open to the general public as well as staff and students at the University. It takes place in the Small Hall at the University. For more information, please contact:
