Law with Business graduate Ayfer Aram is behind the new venture, based on Garden Lane, having initially launched the business online last October.

Her bubble tea deliveries proved to be so successful with fellow students that the trainee solicitor was able to open her own shop.

Ayfer, from Chester, has now transformed a former hairdressers in Garden Lane into a modern café with both indoor and outdoor seating.

She has been delighted by the response having enjoyed a busy few months trading so far and says her experience studying at the University provided her with the skills she needed to ensure her business was a success.

Ayfer, who also completed her Master’s and LPC at the Chester Law School, said: “I cannot thank the lecturers who supported me throughout my studies enough.

"Candida Darling, the Study Abroad Lead from the University’s International Centre, was a massive support in my growth through the work-based learning that I undertook abroad, which led to me being offered a training contract in London.

“I am also grateful to Senior Law Lecturer Andy Todd who taught me about company law – she was a lecturer I really admired and I’ve had a great deal of support from her throughout my studies and business ventures.”

Ayfer is now looking forward to what the future has in store and has plans to expand her business empire.

She said: “The interest and popularity of the store has been really positive. My vision now is to expand my Bubble Tea Bar brand as a franchise.”

As its name suggests, Bubble Tea Bar specialises in ‘bubble tea’ – a Taiwanese recipe made by blending a tea base with milk, fruit and fruit juices, then adding the bubbles – tapioca pearls – to sit at the bottom of the beverage, which can be served hot or cold.

The premises also sell other hot drinks, as well as fresh grilled sandwiches, pastries, paninis, pasta pots and bubble waffles.

Takeaway is available and deliveries will continue through online orders via the website. Biodegradable cups and bamboo straws will also be used.

Ruth Sutton, Head of Chester Law School, said “We are thrilled to see one of our alumni, Ayfer opening her own business. We always knew she was destined for success and we’re delighted it is close to campus so we can sample its delights!”
