Caritas Events, run by three second-year Events Management students, has organised the Music Fulfil event, featuring a host of DJs dropping disco and house favourites people can enjoy from their living room, from 7pm on Thursday February 25.
The event, in aid of the mental health charity Mind Halton, came about through the passion for music, events and understanding of the importance of a positive mental wellbeing shared by the trio, Billy Barker, Lewis Wilson and Mandip Singh.
In addition to funds, the event aims to raise awareness for Mind Halton, which strives to better the lives of those in the local community who struggle with their mental wellbeing. The charity takes pride in campaigning for social inclusion and the combating of stigma and discrimination experienced by people with mental health problems.
Caritas Team Leader, Billy Barker said: “We can’t wait to raise funds for this fantastic charity, and awareness for such an important cause, through something that we are really passionate about.
“Music is the perfect way to raise awareness for mental health, as often music is the one thing that helps us through our darkest times. So, with that being said we’re really looking forward to bringing a bit of brightness to everyone’s evening on Thursday February 25th. Grab yourself a ticket, after all, the music sounds better with you.”
Nic Lunt, Mind Halton Chief Executive Officer added: “I applaud the initiative these young people are displaying to project a positive image of mental health. I hope others take inspiration from this as we work towards a society more understanding of mental health issues.
“It has been a pleasure to work with the group and everyone at Mind Halton is looking forward to tuning in on February 25th to watch the show. Thank you in advance to everyone who contributes to the event and helps us to keep on supporting people with their mental wellbeing.”
DJs Covalent, Jay Devlin, Gregson and Olly Luiz will be on the decks.
Tickets are £5, plus a booking fee, and all profits from the event will be donated to Mind Halton. Tickets are available at: https://www.skiddle.com/whats-on/Unknown/Virtual-Event/Caritas-Events---Music-Fulfil/24478960/.
