Our first year students visited Chester Cathedral as part of their first assignment. The Operations Director at Chester Cathedral gave the group some insight into the day to day running of the Cathedral, the challenges faced and the Marketing techniques used in order to encourage visitors to the Cathedral. The students experienced the tower tour and were given a display by the team who run the Falconry, despite the heavy rain! The group are now busily preparing a presentation identifying key marketing areas that could be developed by the Cathedral to increase visitor numbers and enhance the visitor experience.

First year marketing students preparing a presentation in the Queen's Park Board Room.

Our second years have just completed their first assessment which was to identify global issues that may impact on Marketers. The students had the fantastic experience of presenting their findings in the very grand surroundings of the boardroom. Whilst nerve wracking, the students found the opportunity to present in such grand, formal surroundings boosted their confidence and gave them a taste of what they might expect in their future careers.
