The countdown is on to our Virtual Clearing Open Days which are taking place from Thursday 13th to Monday 24th August. These are the perfect opportunity to obtain all the information you need to get September sorted, whether you have applied to the University through Clearing or you’re still considering your options.

To gain a taste of what it’s really like to live and study at the University of Chester, you can register here – but for now, read on for our top tips on getting the most out of a Virtual Open Day, navigating your way around and getting your questions answered!

Your Next Steps

Once you’ve registered, you can visit the Virtual Open Days from 13th – 24th August and the even better news is – we’re keeping it open so that you can access at any time and re-visit us as often as you like.

You’ll be able to:

  • Find out more about our campuses and facilities
  • Learn about our Academic Departments
  • View course videos and videos from our support departments in the Auditorium

If you still have questions about student life at Chester, don’t worry! We’d encourage you to speak to our current students who have been in your shoes; they’re ready to provide the answers, share their experiences and put your mind at rest via the Live Chat taking place exclusively on 13th, 14th and 15th August from 12pm to 2pm.

At Chester we pride ourselves on the level of support we offer to all students and so, our experienced teams will also be available for you on 13th, 14th and 15th August from 12pm to 2pm. We recommend you join the Live chat with our support services to get expert advice on:

  • Accommodation
  • Finance and Funding
  • Our Foundation Years programmes
  • Disability and Inclusion*
  • Student Support and Development
  • Study Skills
  • Library and support services
  • Sport and Active Lifestyle
  • Study Abroad

*If applicants with disabilities are unable to access the live chat facility during the Open Day because of disability related reasons, you are welcome to arrange an alternative communication with Disability and Inclusion by emailing disability@chester.ac.uk.

Our Key Tips

  • Don’t Panic! – The beauty of a Virtual Open Day is that you can really take your time to absorb all of the information you need to inform your decision. You can virtually visit us at your leisure and return as many times as you please without worrying about having to rush to your next session. If you’re still intrigued and would like to experience Chester in person, you can also register to join one of our Campus Tours, taking place daily from Thursday 13th to Friday 21st August (excluding 16th August).
  • Fill Your Bag! – As you proceed through the Open Day, you’ll be able to add all of your favourite resources to your bag so that you can look in more detail at a later date. This may be things like course leaflets, information on accommodation and finance, or more detail about the support services at the University. You can choose whatever you’d like to add to your bag (the big plus being, you can add as much as you like without the hassle of actually carrying it).
  • Prepare Your Questions! – You’ve got questions and we want to provide the answers to make the Clearing process as simple as possible for you. Note down your most important questions before the day begins so that you have them in mind when chatting to our staff and students. Remember that there’s no such thing as a silly question so don’t be afraid to ask about anything that’s important to you, whether it’s about your course, student life, finance or whether you can get 24-hour access to the library.
