If you’ve got a passion for performing arts and are considering taking it further with a degree, you might be wondering just what avenue to take.  Are you keen to tread the boards as an actor, take to the stage as a professional dancer or musician, or perhaps work in stage management, education, or more widely within the creative industries?

You might also be wondering what type of course and learning environment will suit you best during your studies.

Visiting different universities is really the best way to find all this out, so you can see facilities for yourself, speak to staff and students, and get a feel for what life there as a student might be like.

Performing Arts Taster Session

We’re looking forward to hosting a unique event for prospective Performing Arts students at our Kingsway Campus on Saturday 18th August, which will allow you to do just that!

This event will give you an insight into our Performing Arts courses and enable you to experience the work of past and present students, and staff, while getting involved in dance, drama and music taster sessions on our interactive tour of Kingsway Campus.

See Theatre Company In Action

The tour will end in our main theatre space where you will have the opportunity to watch a performance by one of our alumni theatre companies, Hivemind Theatrical Solutions.

Lucy Ann Jones, Hivemind’s Business Manager, explains the close link they have maintained with the Department of Performing Arts:

"Hivemind Theatrical Solutions is made up entirely of University of Chester graduates, so we're extremely grateful and always excited to work with the lecturers and staff that fostered the skills we needed to make our theatre troupe a reality.  We’ve performed in Manchester, Liverpool and Chester (recently scoring a 4-star review on our latest piece, 'Pretty Evil'!) and that couldn't have been achieved without the immense support we've received from the University after we graduated.

“Choosing your University is a huge decision, so we treasure the fact we're given the platform to speak with prospective students. We love celebrating our position as an ever-growing University of Chester alumni theatre company and assuring prospective students and parents that the support will be there during their time at university- and that dreams can be achieved!"
