Of course, anyone at the University of Chester would quickly tell you that every day is a cat day on our campuses.
Campus Cat, otherwise known as Millie, roams Parkgate Road campus, the library and lecture rooms as if they were built for her. She is Chester’s very own unofficial mascot.
Millie is well-known for getting cosy on campus, seeking attention from our staff and students, and helping out in lectures. Here are a handful of our favourite Millie moments!
Supporting students before exams.
Millie likes to make sure that Chester students are stress free, and who wouldn’t be relaxed seeing this face before an exam? Bonus if she gets some pets, too.
Helping out the Careers and Employability team.
At Chester, our Careers and Employability team deliver a service tailored to our students’ personal aspirations. Campus Cat likes to sit front-of-house to welcome students.
The purrfect teammate.
Ever stuck on a bit of work and not sure what to do next? Millie has a sixth sense when you need to brainstorm. You may need to pull up a chair though, otherwise she might take your desk space…
Taking a well-earned break.
Providing staff and students with so much support takes a lot of energy. You can often find Campus Cat in the library having a little snooze.
Cheering on our university football team.
Whether it’s emotional support before an exam or while writing an essay, helping you boost your employability or cheering you on during a game, Millie is right there.
