Research Your Options

If you haven’t left a HE Fair with bags bursting with prospectuses and a head to match, then you haven’t done it right. With hundreds of higher education providers all under one roof, HE Fairs are the perfect opportunity to get as much information as possible about your options.

When you’re ready to start sifting through your collection, start by creating three piles: no, yes and maybe. There are lots of questions you can ask to narrow it down. Remember it’s not all about statistics, it’s about finding the right university for you. Consider such things as:

  • Does the university offer your course?
  • Does the course content cover everything you want to learn?
  • Are there opportunities for work experience?
  • Are there opportunities to study abroad?
  • What do graduates go on to do?
  • What do current and past students say?
  • What about the location – could you see yourself living there?

Whilst the prospectus has lots of useful information, it’s also worth looking at each university’s website and getting in touch. If you have any questions about the University of Chester, feel free to contact us. Simply email enquiries@chester.ac.uk, and one of our friendly HE Advisers will be in touch.

Take a look at The Complete University Guide for some useful tips on choosing the right university.

  • Saturday 19th October: Warrington Campus and University Centre Shrewsbury
