Dr David Harry, a Senior Lecturer at the University, will delve into the origins of The Mystery Plays during a one-hour lecture this Saturday.

Dr Harry said: “Chester has some of the best-preserved and unique records for urban drama. The Mystery Plays are as an important part of the City’s identity today as they were 500 years ago.

“This talk will explore the plays, how and where they were performed, and what makes them different from other forms of medieval drama.”

The event is part of the Mysteries of Chester exhibition at Chester Cathedral and will take place in the Lady Chapel at 1pm.

Tickets are priced £5 and can be booked at https://chestercathedral.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows/1173645845
