You may have read about University Centre Shrewsbury already, or you may have even visited Shrewsbury itself, but perhaps you are still uncertain as to what the new University Centre is all about and why we’re excited about it…

University Centre Shrewsbury welcomed its first cohort of students in 2015 and prides itself on its personal and supportive teaching environment – something that simply cannot be matched by bigger institutions. Here students really count and their influence is reflected in all aspects of the institution.

From the moment you walk over the threshold of Guildhall; from its impressive facilities and learning spaces, to its lecturers and current students, it is noticeable how friendly and welcoming the centre is.

Guildhall is where all the lectures take place in Shrewsbury and is only a ten minute walk away from our partnership accommodation (Mardol House), which is located right in the heart of the town centre. Mardol House is in its second year of opening, and students can benefit from a fantastic location as well as modern and stylish en-suite rooms.

So if you’re thinking about university, and like the idea of Chester, perhaps a more personalised student experience, where you can learn first-hand from experienced and esteemed lecturers, might be just up your street.

The Open Day at University Centre Shrewsbury takes place on Saturday 22nd October, between 10am and 3pm, and anyone considering a degree is welcome to come along.

There are several campus and accommodation tours arranged for the day – all led by our student ambassadors. These tours will offer visitors the chance to see the new facilities as well as ask any questions they might have about student life at Shrewsbury.

There will also be information sessions for each subject, provided by each of our academics. These sessions will take visitors through the course content, including the different modules on offer, and the resources available to students.

Book your Open Day now

If, however, you are unable to attend the Open Day, there are regular campus tours scheduled each week which include a tour of the facilities and partnership accommodation, as well as the opportunity to have an informal chat with course tutors.
